The accumulation of knowledge and skill is key to the success of any company, and Solotech’s expertise is now legendary. But throughout our history, we’ve also stood out through the passion we show for our profession. Since the company was founded in Montreal in 1977, several key projects have shaped what we have become today, both nationally and internationally.
World Expos
Over the past 15 years, Solotech has supplied the majority of the technical equipment for three world expos: Seville in Spain, Hanover in Germany and Aichi in Japan. Our lighting, projections and sound systems wow visitors who come to admire each country’s architectural, urban and industrial innovations.
Solotech is proud to announce the signature of an agreement by which it will provide sound, video and lighting equipment to the Canadian pavilion during the next universal exposition to be held in Shanghai in 2010. This contract is in partnership with the Cirque du soleil who has been awarded the entire sponsorship by the Canadian Government.
Credibility goes hand-in-hand with success. During a major award show, whether broadcast or not, everything has to work perfectly. There’s no room for error. That’s why Solotech is the official supplier of technical equipment and staff for the majority of Canadian award shows. This partnership has been solidified during the 10+ years we’ve worked on the Canadian music industry’s Juno Awards and the 25+ years supplying the Quebec music industry’s l’Adisq award show.
Festivals and Major Events
For more than twenty years Solotech has been recognized as the creating force behind many major events such as the Montreal Jazz festival, the Canadian music week in Toronto, the just for laughs festival, the Francofolies and the summer festival in Quebec city. In addition Solotech was the sole supplier to the 400th anniversary celebrations held in Quebec city. During this major event, more than 250,000 people were brought together to be entertained by some 20 renowned artists such as Celine Dion. Solotech was able to deliver for this occasion 6 giant screens, 18 sound towers on which were hung numerous moving light projectors and an overall lighting system for the scene.
